My Story

Welcome to My Adventure

Greetings! I'm excited to share a bit about myself and my journey. My story begins in the beautiful Kanawha County, WV, where I was born and raised. My father served our community as a Medic, while my mother dedicated her time as a 911 Dispatcher and held various other roles. I have a younger brother, who is my best friend and partner in countless adventures. I'm happily married to my wonderful wife, and together we share our lives with four beloved fur babies. We also cherish the memory of our German Shepherd, Leona, who waits for us on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Riding the Rapids of Life

My journey through life has been as exhilarating and unpredictable as white-water rafting the full 26 miles of the Gauley River each fall. I graduated from Riverside High School in 2002, where I focused on Broadcast Journalism and played the saxophone with the Marching Warrior band from 1999 to 2002. I initially pursued an Education major at West Virginia State College, but soon felt a pull towards Broadcasting, ultimately earning an Associate's degree in Information Technology from West Virginia Junior College in 2014.

Navigating Careers

For 19 years, I immersed myself in the world of Broadcast Television. I spent seven years at WSAZ, transitioning from Newscast Production and News Photography to Engineering. In 2009, I shifted gears and worked as a certified trainer and supervisor for Delta and United Airlines at Yeager Airport. However, the call of the newsroom brought me back to WCHS/Fox 11, where I directed newscasts for eight years before transitioning to my current role as an IT Engineer. I also share my passion for technology as an Adjunct IT Instructor at West Virginia Junior College.

Answering a Higher Calling

In 2019, I felt a profound call to the priesthood. By the fall of 2020, I enrolled in the Iona Program to further discern this calling and prepare for ordination. I am currently serving as the Clergy in Charge of Good Shepherd in Hansford and ministering to the New River Episcopal Ministries Cluster. My calling is to serve the smaller churches of the Diocese, though I remain open to wherever the Holy Spirit may lead me, even if that means serving a larger congregation in the future.

Reaching Out

Part of my ministry is to reach out to those who have felt hurt or abandoned by the church. As someone who has been one of those lost sheep, I am committed to extending compassion and understanding to those in need.

My Passions

When I'm not navigating the rapids of life or the Gauley River, you can find me engaging in my other passions. I'm a Ham radio operator, an avid tabletop RPG player, a video game enthusiast, and a dedicated watcher of Japanese anime.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about my journey. Whether through the waters of the Gauley River or the path of ministry, I look forward to what lies ahead and the connections we may make along the way.
